Frequently asked
- Do I need my own Claude or OpenAI account?
- Yes. Cloud agents run on your own Anthropic API key, added once in Settings → Agents. RelayDev encrypts it at rest and the agent sandbox never has direct access to it.
- What's the difference between cloud and local agent runs?
- Cloud runs happen in an isolated Vercel Sandbox microVM. Local runs happen on your own machine through the desktop app, using your existing git and Claude Code install.
- What counts as a cloud hour?
- The time a cloud sandbox runs for one of your tasks, from start to stop, counted by the minute. 20 hours is 40 runs of 30 minutes. Hours reset every month on your billing date, also on yearly plans. Local runs never count.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- You pick a plan. Local keeps every run on your own machine; Solo and Pro add cloud hours. Until you choose, your projects, tasks and pull requests stay as they are, but no new runs start. Nothing is deleted.
- What do I need for the Local plan?
- The RelayDev desktop app on a Mac, with git and Claude Code signed in. Runs use your own Claude login and your computer; the web app shows their progress, the pull requests and the Test Suite.
- What happens when I run out of cloud hours?
- Cloud runs pause until your hours reset. You can keep running tasks on your computer, buy extra hours at €0.50 each, or move to a bigger plan.
- Can agents merge code without me?
- No. Every run opens a pull request. Nothing reaches your default branch until you review the diff and click Accept & Merge.
